Throughout its run so far, the XT4 has been available as three trim models: the standard Luxury, mid-range Premium Luxury, and high-performance Sport. Features availability can vary according to model year. Basically, though, every XT4 comes standard with an impressive roster of comfort and convenience features, including remote engine start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power liftgate.
The standard lineup also includes a smartphone-friendly infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Beginning with the 2021 model year, this smartphone integration technology includes wireless connectivity. From the 2023 model year on, standard safety aids include blind-spot warning and automatic emergency braking. Options for the base model include a sunroof and a Cold Weather package with heated front and rear outboard seats.
The Premium Luxury trim model adds to the aforementioned features with leather upholstery, a hands-free power liftgate, and interior ambient lighting. This model also helps ease your mind with extra safety features, including adaptive cruise control and reverse emergency braking. Before 2023, you had to upgrade to this model to enjoy blind-spot monitoring. The Premium Luxury also opened the door for a much longer list of options, including a head-up display and wireless smartphone charging pad.
Finally, the top-trim Sport adds to the Premium Luxury’s standard features with performance-based upgrades. This model helps you get around in greater style, with a sport steering wheel, sturdier front-seat bolsters, and alloy pedals. Outside, the Sport sets itself apart from other XT4 models with body-colored exterior trim, including door handles and mirror caps.
Every XT4 comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (237 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque) and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Although front-wheel drive is standard equipment, all-wheel drive was always optional. That means you should be able to find this traction-boosting performance gear available when you’re shopping used options.
The used Cadillac XT4 is a very comfy cruiser. Its powertrain gets you off to a pretty quick start, so you’ll never feel like you’re lagging behind in traffic. And the ride is smooth and quiet, making this luxury SUV a great commuter.
