The Cadillac XT4 first went on sale in the fall of 2018 as a 2019 model. It is Cadillac’s first four-door compact-luxury-crossover with distinctive styling, room for up to five people and plenty of cargo space, while delivering a smooth ride.
2019
The Cadillac XT4 delivers a smooth 237 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive on all models; all-wheel drive is optional. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard. Models include Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. The XT4 offers a sharp-edged design, distinctive LED lighting, sport grille, and LED taillamps. The interior is comfortable and spacious, but not high-class. There is some stitching on upper door panels plus faux-leather wrap, but lower on the doors and center console, there are sharp-edged plastics and less expensive buttons and switches. The Luxury trims come with synthetic leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats, plus dual-zone automatic climate control. The Premium Luxury adds genuine leather upholstery, and a power liftgate, and the Sport comes with synthetic leather seats, a sport steering wheel, and sporty design upgrades. It comes with an 8.0-inch infotainment system with Cadillac’s easy-to-use Cadillac CUE set-up. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, and a seven-speaker audio system are all standard. A 13-speaker Bose audio system and navigation are optional. It offers a Technology package on the Premium Luxury and Sport models, adding a digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, and a wireless smartphone-charging pad. Cadillac offers few standard driver-assistance features. Available features include front-and rear automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. It features 22.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 48.9 cubic feet of space folding down the 60/40 split rear seat. When properly equipped it can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
2020/2021
After the all-new 2019 debut, the Cadillac XT4 carries over with few changes for 2020. Forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, and front pedestrian braking are now standard in the new AT4.
Only a few minor changes come to the XT4 for the 2021 model year. The Luxury trim receives a new standard power rear liftgate and the option of leather upholstery. An optional Driver Awareness package that includes automatic high-beam headlamps and lane keeping assist has been added to the Luxury trim. The Sport trim receives red-painted brake calipers; and the Sport and Premium Luxury trim come with new exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals.
Two new exterior colors join the available options – Infrared Tintcoat and Wave Metallic. Pricing for the XT4 starts at $35,795 for the Luxury, $39,795 for the Premium Luxury, and $39,995 for the Sport trim. You can add all-wheel drive to any trim for $2,500, as well as any packages for an additional price.
The Cadillac XT4 is a well-rounded midsize SUV that offers a modern interior, comfortable seating, as well as an impressive technology interface and performance.
