The CT6 is a full-size luxury sedan that delivers very comfortable cabin dimensions, classic styling, and an impressive range of modern features. This used Cadillac also delivers a smooth, swift drive, like any good luxury car should.
When the CT6 first hit the streets, it was available as four trim models: base, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum. For the 2019 model year, however, the trim model lineup was revised, and these luxury sedans were available as the Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, and Platinum.
Throughout the CT6’s only generation, it delivered an impressive array of comfort and tech features. Offers vary according to model year, but you’ll find standard LED head and taillights, heated exterior mirrors, leather seating, and dual-zone automatic climate control on the list of standard items. Upper trim levels add even more comfort and convenience to your daily drive, with features that include a hands-free power liftgate, 360-degree parking camera, and a 10-speaker premium sound system.
Depending on trim level and model year, there were a variety of engines available for this crop of luxury sedans:
- Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (265 horsepower, 295 lb-ft of torque)
- Turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine (237 hp, 258 lb-ft)
- 3.6L V6 (335 hp, 284 lb-ft)
- Turbo 3.0L V6 (404 hp, 400 lb-ft)
- Plug-in hybrid powertrain (335 hp, 432 lb-ft)
- Turbocharged 4.2L V8 (550 hp, 574 lb-ft)
Cadillac continued to update the CT6 throughout its run. Here are the changes you need to know, according to model year:
- 2020: The turbocharged four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines have been discontinued. Each trim level comes with a longer list of standard features.
- 2019: The CT6 essentially gets a mid-cycle refresh, with new exterior design and revised trim levels. A new turbocharged four-cylinder engine and 10-speed automatic transmission become the standard powertrain. The top-tier Platinum now comes standard with a turbo V8. The Super Cruise hands-free driving system debuts.
- 2018: These models receive lots of tech updates. Drivers can now download over-the-air updates for the CT6’s software. A revised infotainment interface makes it easy to access apps. The front-seat heating and ventilation system gets an automated feature. The rearview camera now features a washer. An upgraded version of the automatic parking system introduces greater automation via pedal operation.
- 2017: Cadillac introduces a plug-in hybrid version of the CT6, the CT6 Plug-In. It offers 30 miles of all-electric driving range before switching into hybrid mode.
