The GMC Sierra is overall a powerful truck. From what we can tell so far, next year is going to continue the trend of this truck getting even more powerful. While there is still more news to come about what next year holds for the 2024 GMC Sierra, we have everything that you could want to know about what the lineup entails right here. With what’s been confirmed so far, we can already tell that the Sierra is going to go through some significant changes.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- GMC has released specific changes and what to expect for the Sierra 1500, the Sierra 2500 HD and the Sierra 3500 HD.
- Previously powertrains that were upgraded are made standard for next year’s models.
- Upgrades to exterior features and additional assist features that were once optional are now made standard, with some new features not seen before.
WHAT IS NEW COMING TO THE SIERRA 1500?
The Sierra 1500 is going to get a revised powertrain coming next year. The once optional 305 horsepower, 3.0-liter inline-six engine has now become the standard engine under the hood for the AT4X trim on next year’s model. Other engine choices will be the same as this year’s model. Four-wheel drive will continue to be available on all trims if you prefer that option.
The Sierra 1500 is also getting some upgrades to its wheel options with new colors including Downpour metallic and a Thunderstorm gray. We can expect upgrades to the 1500’s interior and safety features, and probably an upgrade to the already impressive 13.2-inch infotainment system. Retractable footsteps have been confirmed for a few of the upper tier trims as well as available active exhaust.
NEW UPGRADES FOR THE SIERRA 2500 HD & 3500 HD
The Heavy Duty Sierras are getting their fair share of boosts for next year as well, as they continue to align themselves as some of the best workhorse trucks you can find on the market. The exteriors and interiors will increase in their feel of luxury, with new chrome accents and the same thick leather interior drivers have come to love.
They both got a new front fascia and LED headlights and taillights. Additional assist features like the transparent trailer view, trailer side blind zone alert, and available adaptive cruise control are offered to help make the HD’s the hardest off-road worker you can find. Also, the 401-hp 6.6-liter V-8 with a 10-speed automatic will now serve as the base standard engine.
LOOK FORWARD TO MORE POWER NEXT YEAR
When it comes to the 2024 Sierra, the overall theme of next year is more potential through power. More updates are expected to come as far as an extensive list of features are concerned, as the year progresses, but for now the 2024 Sierra is definitely a top competitor for great trucks.
