The remarkable 2021 Cadillac XT5 is a two-row midsize SUV with an excellent predicted reliability rating, great gas mileage, and plenty of room for passengers and cargo. You can choose between three 2021 distinctive trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. We are going to compare all three.
Luxury
The Cadillac XT5 Luxury is loaded with an array of first-class features and is a good base choice in Cadillac’s XT5 trims but it is also limited in its features and single engine choice. It comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, with 235 horsepower and 258 lbs-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is an option. Top features include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, power liftgate, remote engine start, proximity keyless entry, CUE infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, eight-speaker Bose audio system, simulated leather upholstery, and power-adjustable, heated front seats. Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors will keep you safe on the road. Cargo room is 30.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 63 cubic feet when the seats are folded down. Pricing starts at $43,995.
Premium Luxury
The Cadillac Premium Luxury will add more luxury features, including driver’s seat memory settings, leather upholstery, interior ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging pad, automatic wipers, power-folding and auto-dimming side mirrors, panoramic sunroof, blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. It comes with the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but a 3.6-liter V6, with 310 horsepower and 271 lbs-ft of torque is available. Front-wheel drive is also standard, with all-wheel drive as an option. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Premium Luxury offers a Smart Towing package as an option that includes a V6 engine, seven-pin wiring harness for trailer connection, heavy-duty cooling system, and hitch guidance camera system. Pricing starts at $48,795.
Sport
The Sport takes on the Premium Luxury trim’s standard features and the 3.6-liter V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 271 lbs-ft of torque. It comes with 20-inch wheels, sport-tuned all-wheel drive system, sport suspension with adaptive dampers, upgraded Brembo brake system, and heavy-duty cooling system. There are a few option packages that the XT5 offers: the Premium Luxury and Sport technology package, Platinum package, and Driver Assist package, each adding upgraded technology, interior conveniences, or driver’s aids. Pricing starts at $55,095.
Overall
The 2021 Cadillac XT5 is a good value for its price and luxury class, with plenty of standard technology features and a great predicted reliability rating. The Luxury trim is a good base trim with plenty of features and luxury but the Premium Luxury and Sport add on to its luxury, with more added features, conveniences, and luxury on each trim. The Sport will also give you more power with its standard engine.
