The 2021 Cadillac XT4 is a midsize luxury SUV that offers a modern interior, comfortable ride, an impressive technology interface and performance to get the job done. You have the choice of three trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. We are going to compare all three.
Luxury
The Luxury trim interior is comfortable and spacious and offers seating for five people, with enough legroom for most adults. There are soft-touch materials, but there are also some hard plastics too. However, Cadillac is known for its luxury in all their trims. It comes with synthetic leather upholstery and 8-way power-adjustable front seats. Standard features include a CUE infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, seven speakers, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. You can upgrade to a premium Bose system on the Luxury and Premium Luxury. Every trim level gets a rear-vision HD camera and the Luxury and Premium Luxury have the same options for extra safety features that include lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and a following distance indicator. LED head- and taillights are standard, as well as exterior mirrors that are heated and painted to match the body color for each trim. Cargo room is 22.5 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 48.9 cubic feet with the rear seats down. Every trim is equipped with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 237 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque. All trims deliver the same performance and fuel economy, with 26 to 28 mpg on the city and on the highway and they are all offered with front- or all-wheel drive configurations and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. The wheels on the Luxury model are painted in Bright Silver finish. A power sunroof is optional for both the Luxury and Premium Luxury. Pricing starts at $35,795
Premium Luxury
The Premium Luxury trim has a lot of similarities to the Luxury trim but will add a little bit more. The Premium Luxury adds on roof rails and illuminated door handles, as well as auto-dimming and power-folding features and integrated turn signals. It comes with the same 18-inch alloy wheels but with a Pearl Nickel finish and an option for 20-inch wheels. You will get a hands-free power liftgate on this trim and an option for Reverse Automatic Braking. The Premium Luxury also has the ability to add the Trailering Package and a Technology Package. The Stabilitrak electronic-stability-control system with traction control is offered on all models. Pricing starts at $39,795.
Sport
The Sport trim is the sportier version of the Cadillac XT4, featuring the sportier appearance package. The appearance package comes with a lot of glossy black trim on the outside, including the lower fascia, the roof rails, and the moldings around the windows. Its front grille has a unique design with a glossy black finish to match. You will get 4-way lumbar adjustments on the front seats; as well as power-adjustable bolsters. Technology features remain the same except, both the Premium Luxury and Sport have access to a rear-seat infotainment package add-on. The Luxury Premium and Sport also have access to MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link suspension in the rear, as well as hill start assist and front pedestrian braking. Emergency Braking is standard on all three trims. It also adds LED turn signals to its lighting. The Sport receives the same engine and performance line-up, with 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels that come in a Diamond Cut, Argent Metallic finish.
